Safe Imagination is Boring...at NYAFF'18
July 4, 2018
Last Friday June 29th, the Safe Imagination is Boring art show opened up at the New York Asian Film Festival at Lincoln Center and I thought I'd share a few pics of the night with everyone.
The above image is a "before/after" shot I took. The "before" was taken about 2 hours before the opening reception began. The "after" was about 1 hour into the reception. It was soooo much fun! Reminded me how much I love this film festival.
Time only allowed me to contribute one piece to the show. But I'm pretty proud of the piece and happy with how it came out. The theme of the show is what Asian cinema means to me.
For me....growing up, the only "super heroes" I was able to ever see anywhere were the ones that came straight from Asia. Sadly...to this day, they seem to still be the only ones I get to see. But slowly but surely things are picking up for Asian people begin seen in pop culture/ media.
Below are some shots of all the pieces from the show. Mine is the one that has Bruce Lee, Chow Yun Fat, Gordon Liu and two of the Five Deadly Venoms on it.
